If you have a
loved one, relative or friend for whom you would like others to pray
for or whom you would like remembered at Mass on the anniversary of
their passing or other significant date, please complete the form below.
General Intercessions
You
are most welcome to send in the names of persons whom you would like
remembered by the Parish in prayer; they may be a loved one,
perhaps a member of your family or a friend - or even a work colleague
or just "anybody" you feel would benefit from being remembered.
General Intercessions are listed on the Chantry page so that visitors to the website can add people to their own private prayers. These Intercessions are then offered weekly on Monday during the Healing Mass/Communion Service.
MASS INTENTIONS (Memento Domine)
Perhaps
you would like a particular person for a specific reason remembered
at Mass; such as an anniversary e.g. a wedding or birthday, or the
anniversary of the death of a loved one? Requesting Mass be said
particularly for someone, is a wonderful act of charity on behalf of
the petitioner.
Mass Intentions are posted on the DAILY MASS ONLINE page by date and are remembered by the Priest silently at the Altar during the broadcast Daily Mass.
REQUIEM MASSES (Missa Votiva)
Or perhaps you would like a Requiem Mass offered for a loved one, relative or friend on the anniversary of their passing and/or birthday? Requesting a Requiem Mass is to request the Requiem Rite of Mass, a specific form of the Mass offered for the souls of the departed. This is classed as a "votive" Mass i.e. a Mass for a particular intention as opposed to requesting that a name be mentioned by the priest (as above) in the ordinary course of daily Masses.
Please note: A Requiem may not always be offered on a specific date due to Solemnities and other Feasts of precedence, meaning that a Requiem or "votive" cannot be offered for example during Holy Week; in which case, the priest will arrange for the Requiem to be offered on a day near the date you have requested when "votive" Masses are permitted.
If requesting a Requiem Mass, please remember, if possible, to include the the deceased's date of birth as well as the anniversary of their death so that they may be included in our Chantry list. In this way, they will be remembered not just on or about the date of the anniversary of their passing, but also on their birthday as well as any additional date you may request them to be remembered on.
VOTIVE MASSES (Missa Votiva)
You may also request a Votive Mass, when permitted (see above) for a particular Saint, Devotion or Our Lady, perhaps in thanksgiving for graces received or granted through intercession or for whom/which you have a particular spiritual devotion or adoption by patronage.
